Zen Buddhism was created by Bodhidharma at the Shaolin Buddhist Temple on Mt. Songshan in Northern China in 600AD.
Zen Buddhism has spread worldwide.
Unfortunately, laziness, and ignorance have caused Buddhism to be stripped of one of its' primary ingredients: exercise.
Bodhidharma was ostracized by his fellow monks for trying to whip them into shape.
So, most of the worlds' Zen Buddhism, focuses on just sitting around, as Bodhidharma is depicted in the painting to the left.
"Sitting around is not the path to Zen or enlightenment," preaches Buddha Zhen. "Bodhidharma criticized the monks for falling asleep during the meditations because they were out of shape. So he created the 18 Hands of Luohan, similar to Tai Chi (Taijiquan) and Qigong breathing exercises. Breathing + moving + Qi energy flow. That's what Zen Buddhism is about. Then you put the Dharma frosting on the top to live a healthy, wealthy, happy, snappy, balanced life."
