BUDDHISM BASICS page 35 Progress Toward EnlightenmentI wrote and recorded a song, "In The Pool of Enlightenment." It's on the TAI CHI MAGIC CD. That one song is worth the price of the record. Not just because it's 8 minutes long, but because it represents my path, my journey, my peace, and my motivation, somehow all wrapped into one. It's from a phrase I read in a Buddhist or Daoist book. They share so much with one another, you might as well just mix them together, sift out the hocus-pocus, and wow, those orientals were smart! So go be in your own pool of enlightenment. Bask in the moonlight of understanding. Enjoy the star filled awareness between you and the universe. Savor a hamburger. I'm not apologizing for that. I think the hamburger represents American genius. It's a meal you can eat while driving. Survival rarely requires enlightenment. Survival rarely depends upon enlightenment. Survival must not be an issue in your daily life -- or spirituality will be distracted. So, If you are living a COMFORTABLE LIFE, and also FEEL CONTENTMENT -- I will guess you are making progress toward enlightenment.
