The 5 Paths

THE 5 PATHS:

4. PATH OF CONCENTRATED CONTEMPLATION

a. meditation

b. spiritual awareness

ac. develop spirituality

Relaxation comes easily after a day of hard physical and mental work. Both the body and the mind will naturally desire rest.

Shaolin Chi Mantis owes its' success to its' combination of curriculums. The physical development, mental development, and spiritual programs all work because they all support and benefit each other. Remove any of the three programs, and the remaining two programs would suffer.

Continuing these three programs towards the Shaolin Chi Mantis ADVANCED LEVEL of SPIRITUAL WARRIOR, we now begin the journey within. Within the mind, within the spirit, within reality, within ourselves, we meditate.

Meditation has many forms, variations, styles...forget them all.

Meditation is nothing in the pursuit of something, like a street, you have to cross it, or die.

Meditation is first and foremost relaxation.

I've been teaching meditation for twenty years, no amount of technique or information is going to work for you unless you are ready for it.

Ready for meditation?

Yep!

Ready for relaxation?

That's the trick to it all. If you're not ready for relaxation, you're not ready for meditation. If you haven't been working out, stretching, breathing, and freeing your mind of anxiety, stress...you're not ready to meditate.

Like driving a car, you have to be tall enough, mentally prepared with driving laws, and old enough to get a license. Meditation is more difficult than driving because it is not required. Unfortunately, when you turn 16, there aren't required meditation classes in High School.

So you have to pursue meditation. You have to hunt for it, pay someone to teach it to you.

Many people, capable of meditation, teach meditation--meditation that doesn't work. They don't prepare people for meditation in the steps we've outlined in the previous pages. Buddhism, Shaolin Zen, and Shaolin Chi Mantis, teach meditation by preparing our students for meditation.

American business classes teach that preparation is the most important ingredient of financial success. After that, the traditional American business slogan of what's important, "location-location-location," isn't as important to a meditator. I can meditate standing up...

When meditation becomes easy, it becomes natural, it becomes beneficial. Meditation opens many possibilities of enlightenment. Enlightenment has many levels of learning. Just like learning the basic physical movements of Kung Fu before learning weaponry, meditation will first benefit you physically. The mental and spiritual aspects of meditation cannot be obtained if your trying to bypass the physical aspects of meditation.

After you have harnessed the physical aspects of meditation, you can begin the mental aspects of meditation. These will seem like new illuminations that change your life and open the door for enlightenment.

With enlightenment comes spirituality.

As you develop spirituality, the mind becomes more creative and versatile. You're smarter now.

The Final 3 paths I mentioned earlier, become fascinating, like a crossword puzzle. The mind and spirit find a joy in playing and exploring spiritual possibilities.

Ah, a spiritual life is like a kitten. Now flowers look brighter and everything appears different, as if you'd never noticed them before.

Welcome to Buddhism.
